This project involved the creation of a diverse library of custom character avatars designed to support Community Health Worker (CHW) instruction across multiple learning experiences. The collection was developed to reflect the broad range of backgrounds, identities, ages, and professional roles represented within California's healthcare workforce while promoting inclusivity and learner identification.
The avatars were designed for use throughout course content, assessments, learner scenarios, and support materials, providing a consistent visual language that humanizes the online learning experience. By representing a variety of cultural and professional perspectives, the system helps create a more welcoming and relatable educational environment for adult learners preparing for careers in community health.
My role included visual design, character selection and development, asset curation, and implementation planning. The project demonstrates the use of character-based design systems to strengthen learner engagement, representation, and visual consistency across a large-scale online educational program.

This project involved the design and development of a digital badge system supporting Community Health Worker coursework and competency-based learning pathways. Each badge was created to visually represent a specific instructional module, competency area, or course milestone while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across the program.
The badge collection serves both motivational and instructional purposes by helping learners track progress, recognize achievements, and connect course content to broader workforce competencies. Visual metaphors and symbolic imagery were carefully selected to reinforce key concepts including health equity, community engagement, public health systems, healthcare policy, education, and professional practice.
My role included concept development, graphic design, iconography selection, visual systems design, and implementation support. The project demonstrates how gamification principles and visual recognition systems can be integrated into online learning environments to support learner persistence, engagement, and completion.

This infographic was created to support instruction in data quality concepts through the use of a familiar real-world metaphor: building the perfect pizza. The visual uses pizza preparation and delivery scenarios to illustrate six fundamental dimensions of data quality—completeness, validity, uniqueness, timeliness, consistency, and accuracy.
By connecting abstract technical concepts to everyday experiences, the design helps learners develop a more intuitive understanding of data quality principles and their practical applications. The infographic was developed as both a standalone learning object and a visual anchor for related instructional materials.
